Dr. Finan's research involves applied anthropology, especially, development anthropology; economic anthropology; macro-micro linkages; and Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and the Arabian peninsula. Current interests include the impacts of policy reform on local communities; household food security; agricultural and nomadic adaptations in arid lands; and research methodology.
