Climate Diagnostics Center (NOAA-CIRES)
Data related to predicting important climate variations on time scales ranging from one month to centuries by identifying major patterns of climate variability on decadal and longer time scales, and investigating the role of air-sea interactions in modulating decadal-to-centennial variability; includes the Western Water Assessment, El Niño/La Niña information, U.S. predictions, forecasts and anomalies, maps and other information.

Colorado River Commission of Nevada
Organization that acquires, manages, and protects Nevada's share of resources from the Colorado River.

Consortium for Science, Policy, and Outcomes (ASU)

Environmental Protection Agency: Climate Change
Information on climate effects, emissions, impacts, and actions related to global warming. Also describes funding for programs to reduce greenhouse emissions available to individuals, community groups, small businesses, nonprofits, state and local governments and tribes.

Extension Disaster Education Network
The Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) is a collaborative effort of Extension Services throughout the country to "improve the delivery of services to citizens affected by disasters" (including drought). This site focuses on providing access to resources on diaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery for purposes of short-and long-term planning.

GCRIO US Global Change Research Information Office
The US Global Change Research Information Office provides access to data and information on climate change research, adaptation/mitigation strategies and technologies, and global warming related educational resources.

Global Institute of Sustainability (ASU)
GIOS was established to advance interdisciplinary research on environmental, economic, and social sustainability, especially related on urban areas.

IAI/University of Miami Summer Institute on Interdisciplinary Science in the Americas
NSF-funded program intended to foster a multi-disciplinary approach to modern scientific research on global change in the Americas, with the ultimate goal of bridging the gap between science and policy. Targets early-career natural and social scientists from the Americas.

Institute for the Study of Society & Environment (ISSE) (NCAR)
Group that studies environmental change and responses; offers access to its reports on climate impacts on agriculture, enhancing the productivity and resilience of natural resources, on-line newsletters and journals, and a host of other climate and resource information.

Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI)
An intergovernmental organization supported by 18 countries in the Americas. Research programs and funding initiatives encompass climate variability; comparative studies in ecosystems, biodiversity, land use and water resources; changes in the composition of atmosphere, oceans and fresh water; and integrated assessments of human dimensions and applications.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
Group established by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to assess the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to the understanding of the risk of human-induced climate change; its assessments are based mainly on published and peer reviewed scientific technical literature.

International Research Institute for Climate and Society
Collaboration between the NOAA Office of Global Programs; this research and training program offers summaries of global climate events and their impacts, seasonal climate outlooks and forecast evaluation, prediction modeling and other climate-related products.

NASA Global Change Master Directory
Descriptions of Earth science data sets and services relevant to global change research, encompassing agriculture, the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and oceans, snow and ice, geology and geophysics, paleoclimatology, and human dimensions of global change.

National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP)
This arm of NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS) supplies National Weather Service field offices, government agencies, emergency managers, private sector meteorologists, and meteorological organizations and societies throughout the world with a wide variety of national and international weather products; the starting point for nearly all weather and climate forecasts in the U.S.

National Drought Mitigation Center
Group that develops and implements model drought policies and management/mitigation measures to reduce drought impacts and promote economic and environmental sustainability in the West.; on hiatus since Spring 1999.

National Drought Mitigation Center Drought Monitor
A synthesis of multiple indices, outlooks and news accounts from federal, regional and state agencies that represents a consensus of federal and academic scientists in determining drought and its impacts.

National Drought Policy Commission
Synthesizes the activities carried out by this interagency commission, comprised of members from federal, state, tribal, and local governments, in order to mitigate the cross-cutting impacts of drought in the United States.

NCAR: National Center for Atmospheric Research
Research and outreach on atmospheric and related science problems of the earth system, including climate change, changes in atmospheric composition, Earth-Sun interactions, weather formation and forecasting, and the impacts of these components on human societies.

New Mexico Governor's Drought Task Force
Drought plan for New Mexico that assesses where the state is vulnerable to drought impacts, what can be done to minimize the impact of a drought before it occurs, and planned responses for dealing with drought.

NOAA La Niña page
